Spring Nickel Mystery
Clue #5

This clue will use the remaining 6 four-patches you made in Clue #1, the 24 flying geese units you made in Clue #2, and the 24 light 2½" x 2½" squares you cut in Clue #3.

Pair together one light square with one flying geese unit, so that the square lines up with one end of the flying geese unit. Sew together, then press towards the light square. Make 12 units as shown.

Pair together another light square with the other end of each flying geese unit made in the previous step. Sew together, then press towards the light square. Complete this step for all 12 units from the previous step.

Pair together one flying geese unit with one four-patch, so that the point of the flying geese unit points towards the four patch as shown. Sew together, then press towards the four patch. Make 6 units as shown.

Pair together another flying geese unit with the opposite end of the four patch unit made in the previous step, again so that the point of the flying geese unit points towards the four patch as shown. Sew together, then press towards the four patch. Complete this step for all 6 units from the previous step.

Finally, combine two flying geese/light square units with one flying geese/four-patch unit to complete the block. You will make a total of 6 Indian Star blocks as shown.
